Although options like inlaid tile, stone and mosaics make for beautiful allbeit expensive changes to concrete pool decks, there is a wide variety of more affordable options for resurfacing the concrete to breathe new life into a pool area.

Pool Deck Resurfacing

Pool deck resurfacing generally refers to an overlay process which is a procedure that either covers and hides minor damage on concrete surfaces or just updates their look. When applying an overlay product, we are adding strength to your pool deck, patio or other surface. These surfaces can then be textured, stamped, scored or all the above. They are generally less expensive than other types of overlay and lasts a very long time.

Concrete pool deck paint and stains

Pool deck paint or stain is the most inexpensive resurfacing option and generally easy to apply; however, it does not last as long, needing to be reapplied every year or 2. As a result, your maintenance cost will make this option more expensive in the long-term. It also does not cover cracks or imperfections.

Spray texture overlay

One of the most popular choices, this option features a subtle texture that is comfortable and safe, perfect for use in barefoot areas.

You may have heard this option referred to as a cool deck or knockdown finish.

Custom colors, scorelines, stamping, aggregate effects and more can be used to personalize the look.

Brick and Stone overlay

Brick pavers can be installed on top of an existing concrete deck, even if the deck is cracked. Pavers are installed over sand, therefore the new deck will absorb small shifts without cracking the pavers.

Stone can also be installed on top of an existing concrete deck the same way as pavers. Either can be installed on new ground as well.
